Cape Town - Cape Town City squandered a two-goal lead on Wednesday night to draw 2-2 with AmaZulu in their Absa Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium.
The Mother City outfit were out of the gates in a flash as they took the lead in the 16th minute. Bradley 'Surprise' Ralani dribbled his way past two defenders before curling his shot into the bottom corner of the goal.
Eight minutes later City were two goals ahead as Austrian midfielder Roland Putsche found the back of the net with a strong effort from outside the visitors' box.
The goals kept coming in the first half and this time it was Usuthu who struck as Bongi Ntuli scored with a glancing header after Michael Morton swung a cross into the danger area.
Shortly before the half-time mark the home support was silenced as Ntuli completed his brace with a timely strike to level matters at 2-2. A defensive blunder gifted Ntuli with the chance and he made no mistake as he tapped it in.
The game became more cagey as the second half wore on with neither side eager to expose themselves to unnecessary risk, but City substitutes Mduduzi Mdantsane and Mpho Makola gave the hosts more thrust when they came on.
City pushed for the win towards the end of the game but were unable to find the decisive goal and the two sides had to settle for a point each.
The result leaves City and AmaZulu in 11th and 12th positions respectively in the Absa Premiership standings.
