Cape Town - Swansea City striker Tammy Abraham is feeling optimistic about the team's Premier League survival chances and has urged his team-mates to aim high.

The Swans were rooted to the bottom of the league standings until the end of January. However, manager Carlos Carvalhal's charges have lost only once in their last eight top-flight games, lifting them to 14th in the standings.

Abraham is delighted with Swansea's improved performances and wants the team to continue with their upwards trajectory and aim for more than just survival. They currently sit only three points clear of the bottom three.

"Things are looking brighter," Abraham said, according to the club's official website.

"We are playing with confidence and we have started to show what we are truly made of.

"It was tough when we were losing a lot of games, but we knew we had to stick together and that is what we have been doing. We have been fighting.

"It is tight at the bottom, so we can never stop fighting or take our foot off the gas.

"We have to go into every game believing we can win it. We don’t look down – we just have to keep looking up."
