Bafana Bafana's breakout star of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) can't wait for next year's tournament, high in confidence that the team will return from Morocco as champions. 

Sphephelo Sithole's performance in Ivory Coast has mirrored that of Bafana. Like the team, he started slow.

The 24-year-old who plies his trade in the second tier of Portuguese football for Tondela looked out of his depth against a Mali side whose players feature in top leagues in Europe. He was among those at fault for the two goals that Mali scored to beat Bafana 2-0.
