SA's Horn fails to qualify for women's 100m final

Cape Town - South Africa's Carina Horn has failed to advance to the women's 100m final at the IAAF World Championships in London.

Horn, running on the outside in lane nine, crossed the finish line sixth in the women's semi-final with a time of 11.26.

Olympic 100m and 200m champion from Jamaica Elaine Thompson cruised through her race to clock 10.84 ahead of Brazil's Rosangela Santos, who achieves an personal best of 10.91.

The final of the women's 100m takes place on Sunday evening at 22:50 SA time.
