Team South Africa closed their Commonwealth Games campaign with 27 medals, a haul comprising seven gold, nine silver and 11 bronze medals.

It was their worst Commonwealth Games performance since 1994 and 10 less than the 2018 Gold Coast Games.

However, South Africa's campaign could still be classified an encouraging one after their Tokyo Olympics disappointment, where they only bagged three medals last year.
