South Africa's Ntando Mahlangu claimed his second gold medal of the Tokyo Paralympics on Friday, winning the 200m in the T61 category.

Mahlangu, the world record holder in the event, cruised home in a time of 23.59 ahead of Great Britain's Richard Whitehead in second and Ali Lacin of Germany in third.

South Africa nearly medalled this morning in the men's shot put F46 as Kerwin Noemdo threw an African record 15.65m to finish 4th in the final.

"It was tough but we knew from the set. The goal was to get a PB, which would've put me in the medals, but it's my first games," said Noemdo.

"I can't get too upset so back to the drawing board and hopefully, in three years I'll be able to get on the podium."
