Teenage goalkeeper Molefe determined to develop at Chiefs

Cape Town - Exciting young goalkeeper prospect Bontle Molefe is eager to make the most of his chances to develop in the Kaizer Chiefs senior squad.

The 16-year-old was promoted to the senior squad from the reserves in February and is working hard to balance his training with school as he aims to improve his game at Naturena.

"The club have been very successful with making good keepers and I want to add to that," he said, as quoted by SowetanLive.

"When I joined Chiefs two years ago from Mpumalanga Black Aces' academy I was training in the afternoon, but when I was promoted to the first team this year, it became hard because they train in the morning and I still have to go to library and focus on school."

Molefe has four players ahead of him in the pecking order at Amakhosi, with Itumeleng Khune, Daniel Akpeyi, Bruce Bvuma, and Brylon Peterson in the team.

However, the youngster is excited to learn from so many experienced goalkeepers.

He added: "All these guys are experienced and that gives me a perfect opportunity to learn from them. If I make mistakes, they will teach me and guide me... I listen to them. Competing with them will bring the best out of me."
