Cape Town - Orlando Pirates striker Justin Shonga says he has always respected fellow Zambian and new club team-mate Augustine Mulenga.
Shonga, 21, recently signed for the Buccaneers from Nkwazi in Zambia, and will be reunited with Mulenga, 28, after his move from Zanaco.
"Augustine has always been my senior and I have looked up to him," Shonga said of his international team-mate with Chipolopolo.
"Even back when I was a junior at Nkwazi F.C, he was one of the young strikers I admired and I knew that he would go on to be successful.
"Now we are both at a big club like Orlando Pirates and this means we will get to train together and play alongside (each other) as well. This makes me excited as I will get to learn a lot from a player whom I’ve always respected and looked up to.
"I can’t wait to see him play in an Orlando Pirates jersey. I know the Pirates supporters will love him and [the] public as well will get to see what Zambian people have been getting excited about."
Pirates will come up against Chippa United on Sunday in their next Premiership clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
