Red-hot Macuphu loving life at SuperSport United

Cape Town - On loan SuperSport United striker Mxolisi Macuphu says he thrives on scoring goals and is delighted to be bang in form for Matsatsantsa.

It took Macuphu 12 Premiership matches to record two strikes for Bidvest Wits but since his loan move to United, the forward has hit a rich vein of form.

In five league games for the Kaitano Tembo-coached outfit the 29-year-old has managed four league goals in five outings.

In addition, with the player in the side SuperSport have lost just once while winning on four occasions.

He told the Sowetan: "As a striker...you get judged with the number of goals you score.

"When you play and you don't even get a single goal, you don't get recognised.

"It's a great start and it's a great environment."

Macuphu is expected to be involved when his side take on fellow high-flyers Kaizer Chiefs in a Premiership clash at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Friday.

The result of the encounter could have a defining say in either sides hopes of maintaining a title challenge in 2018/19.

Kick-off is 20:00.
