According to KickOff, Mosimane revealed that he does not want to make excuses for Sundowns' draw but could not help shift the blame towards the ball that was used.
“It’s a heavy pitch and are they used to it. I don’t want to make excuses about the pitch but the ball we used… I don’t know what kind of ball that was,” said Mosimane.
"I told the guys before the start of the match, lets not focus on the ball because that ball is the same ball you will find in Maritzburg and you have to play. Both teams play with it, it’s okay - they play with it… You know what I am trying to say”
Mosimane continued to highlight the fact that the pitch was “heavy” and the ball was “different”.
“But let’s not make excuses about the pitch being heavy and the ball being different,” added Mosimane.
Meanwhile, Maritzburg United will look to end Sundowns’ unbeaten run in the PSL when the teams meet at Harry Gwala Stadium.
When the teams met earlier this season in Tshwane they played to a 1-1 draw with goals from Mashego and Awal.
Kick-off is at 20:00 on Tuesday, December 16.
