Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United were the winners at the Absa Premiership monthly awards ceremony held in Johannesburg on Thursday.
Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp was named the Coach of the Month for August, after guiding his side to an unbeaten start to the Absa Premiership standings with three wins and a draw.
The award was Middendorp's first at the club since his return to Naturena, which attests to the remarkable return to form following the disappointing end to the previous campaign.
SuperSport forward Bradley Grobler was named August's Best Player, having scored four goals in the opening month of the South African top-flight.
The award also served as recognition for Grobler's impact this season after he struggled with various injuries in recent times.
