Micho: The best is yet to come from Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic believes his side have plenty of room for improvement in all departments despite topping the Absa Premiership table.

The Buccaneers are currently top the standings ahead of Wits in second place and are enjoying a 10-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

The last time the Sea Robbers tasted defeat was all the way back on 19 August when they lost 1-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Next up for Bucs is a keenly anticipated clash with reigning Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria.

Sredojevic said: "We are not thinking of that [unbeaten run and standings]. We are focused on the fact that every match we look as a unit.

"This match (Tuesday's 2-1 over Polokwane City) was so important for us because it came just 72 hours since we played a very tough 120 minutes (against AmaZulu three days prior in a Telkom Knockout quarter-final).

"I would say that we are happy, but still far from satisfied. Still, the best is yet to come in the way we are growing this season. We need to grow and improve and, as mentioned, we still need to tighten at the back.

"We need to have a much better display in the engine room, the midfield, and be much more effective going forward, so those are the strategic targets we are working on."
