Cape Town - Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy says that Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa reminds him of the type of player he was back in the day.
Tshegofatso has been a revelation since joining the Buccaneers during the off-season from rivals Bloemfontein Celtic.
The 23-year-old already has four goals with many believing that he could reach double figures before the end of the year.
McCarthy, a former Sea Robber player himself, says that Mabasa’s form is good for South African football.
"Pirates have found themselves a crown jewel. They have got a guy who is hungry, he wants to score, he is powerful," McCarthy said as quoted by KickOff.
"He reminds me of myself a lot because I used to like it with defenders tight on me. He is clinical in front of goal. As good as he has been on form, he is also scoring.
"It's good for South African football."
