Kaizer Chiefs legend gives huge praise to Samir Nurkovic

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs legend Ace Khuse believes the form of striker Samir Nurkovic is a major reason why Amakhosi have made such a good start to the season.

Nurkovic, who hails from Serbia, has won many plaudits since his arrival at the Soweto giants before the start of the season with Chiefs unbeaten in their first games and sitting on top of the table with 10 points.

The 27-year-old forward has hit the back of the net once in four games but it is his general play that has impressed Khuse and many coaches in the PSL.

"Samir has unbelievable skills and that is what a foreign player should bring and possess, a foreign player should bring something that we do not have here and that is what Nurkovic is doing," Khuse told Isolezwe.

"He is skillful, a good header of the ball, he can play with his feet and he is strong and what more can you ask for?

"What I like about him is that he works hard, you can see the fire and hunger in his eyes that he wants to score goals for the team."

Khuse, who was a creative midfielder and was part of the Kaizer Chiefs back in their glory days in the early nineties, has no doubt that Nurkovic will reach double figures in the goal scoring charts.

"He makes the team tick and ensures those around him can shine because of his good movements," Khuse continued.

"If you can ask me, I can tell you that I don't doubt that he will score more than 10 goals this season."
