Denis Onyango named in Africa's Best Eleven

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has been named in the CAF Africa's Best Eleven alongside superstars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at the CAF Awards in Dakar, on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old received the prestigious accolade to be named Africa's best goalkeeper alongside world superstars such as the Liverpool duo of Mane and Salah. Onyango is also the only African based player to make the best eleven.

Salah capped off an impressive year for Egypt after being for a second time in a row named African Player of the Year.

Banyana Banyana also won big with head coach Desiree Ellis named the CAF Women’s National Team Coach of the Year, while forward Thembi Kgatlana took home two trophies – the CAF Goal of the Year and CAF Woman Player of the Year awards.

The duo inspired the South African Women's National Team to its first ever qualification for the World Cup set to take place in France in June this year.
