Clever Boys keen on Mathosi

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits are reportedly preparing to make a swap deal for University of Pretoria striker Lucky Mathosi during the January transfer window.

The powerful forward, who is in the final year of his contract with Amatuks, could exchange places with Getaneh Kebede at Wits.

A source close to the situation claims on-loan striker Kedebe could remain permanently while Mathosi moves the opposite direction.

"Lucky Mathosi will be ready to sign with a team of his choice in January. Wits has been interested in the player for some time, and it is highly possible that he will be leaving Tuks on a free," the source told Soccer Laduma.

"Gavin (Hunt) has shown interest in signing the player for next season. I have heard that Wits is considering a swap deal between Mathosi and Getaneh (Kebede).

"You must remember that Kebede is at Tuks on loan from Wits. Wits want the swap deal to take place in the January transfer window."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
