Bethlehem - Chippa United's improving fortunes continued under Clinton Larsen as they moved away from the relegation places with a comprehensive 2-0 victory over Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership at Goble Park.
The opening exchanges failed to provide any openings as the Chilli Boys had to wait until just before the half-hour mark to take the advantage after they were awarded a penalty, which was converted by forward Rhulani Manzini.
The visitors kept their defensive shape as the second stanza went on, as Ea Lla Koto were unable to mount any serious assaults at the Chippa goal.
Stars coach Nikola Kovazovic made a double substitution at the beginning of the second period as Goodman Dlamini and Relebogile Mokhuoane, came on as he tried to improve the situation.
Nonetheless, Stars hopes of securing at least a draw were undone with six minutes remaining as Kurt Lentjies doubled the advantage.
The result means the Chilli Boys have extended their unbeaten run to four matches under Larsen in all competitions, whereas, Stars continued their win-less streak to six games.
As a result, it appears coach Kavazovic could be facing the heat unless a turnaround in fortunes is managed in the near future.
