Billiat: 'I've got a great understanding with Ntshangase'

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has talked up his relationship with team-mate Siphelele Ntshangase, saying they have a "good understanding" on and off the pitch.

Billiat and Ntshangase combined well in the first half of the season, under former Amakhosi head coach Giovanni Solinas, with their partnership in attack resulting in plenty of goals for the Zimbabwe international.

However, Billiat's output has dropped markedly since the appointment of Ernst Middendorp late last year, while Ntshangase has found his first-team chances limited somewhat under the German mentor.

"I think the way [Ntshangase and myself] play is different than other players who might work better together," Billiat is quoted as saying by KickOff.

"I've got a great understanding with Ntshangase, I don't know, maybe because we talk a lot. I believe we work together differently.

"We can't all work together in the same way otherwise it wouldn't help the team to have a great understanding with everyone, but I have a great understanding with Ntshangase, and he does work for me every time."

He continued: "The way you like balls to be passed to you is the same way another player expects from you, so it starts with me putting someone through with nice passes and I expect the same in return.

"We're working on that with the guys and we hope that it will actually pay off soon."

Billiat has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, netting six times and providing eight assists.
