Arsendse: Sundowns can fight on all fronts

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns defender Wayne Arendse is confident that the Brazilians have the experience and squad depth to handle three competitions at the same time.

Pitso Mosimane's charges will clash with ABC Motsepe League club EC Bees in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup on Tuesday, before hosting Rayon Sports from Rwanda in the second leg of their Caf Champions League first-round tie on Sunday.

Aside from those two challenges, Sundowns are also fighting for another Absa Premiership title. They enjoy a four-point lead over Orlando Pirates at the top of the standings with seven games left.

"We’ve been in this space before, having to play in the league, Champions League and also be involved in a cup competition," Arendse told the club's official website

"It’s nothing new to us. The coach has been chopping and changing the team to ensure that the players are fresh. We have the depth in the squad.

"It’s up to us to kill the game against EC Bees as soon as possible so that the coach can start focusing on the match on the weekend. I don’t think that will hinder us in a way."

When asked about the clash with EC Bees, Arendse added: "We are not taking this game lightly. We have footage of them from their last game. We have seen their strengths and weaknesses. They are a very good team on the ball. We need to respect that.

"They will come out all guns blazing and will run all over the place. We have to be calm, show our experience and show why we are a PSL team."
