Full time at St. James' Park and it ends 1-1 after Swansea took the lead on the hour mark through Ayew, only for Joselu to come off of the bench to bring the Magpies level. Neither team played out of their skin to win the game, a draw being a fair result.
CHANCE! Swansea nearly steal it at the death after a long ball towards Bony is headed down by the Ivorian into the path of Narsingh, but Darlow comes out to make the challenge. The ball falls to Bony on the edge of the box and he shoots but Yedlin clears.
Yellow card for Ayew this time as he too kicks the ball away in dissent.
Newcastle have a free kick in a promising position on the edge of the box after Ritchie was pushed down by Carroll. The Scot stands over it and looks to cross towards the back post, but it goes over everyone for a goal kick.
Substitution for Swansea as Dyer is replaced by Narsingh.
Yellow card shown to Mawson by the referee after he kicked the ball away in dissent.
Substitution for Newcastle as Merino comes on to replace Shelvey.
Swansea have a free kick in midfield and it's lofted towards Bartley at the far post. He looks to head the ball down and across the face of goal towards the far post but Clark does brilliantly to divert the ball over the bar.
Newcastle look to break as Atsu delivers the ball in from the left. Mawson is able to head away but only as far as Diame on the edge of the box. The Senegalese midfielder makes poor contact with the volley at goal, however, as he slices it high and wide.
CLOSE! Newcastlecome close after Ritchie crossed from the left towards Atsu in the middle. Atsu looked to head towards goal but he makes a poor connection. The ball is loose and Perez looks like he'll get to it before Fabianski steals it off of his toes.
Substitution for Swansea as Bony is on to replace McBurnie.
GOAL! Newcastle attack down the left as Perez gets onto a long ball and looks to come inside and curl the ball towards the far corner. It's blocked and goes across goal to Joselu, who provides a beautiful low finish into the corner. 1-1.
Substitutions for both sides as Gayle is replaced by Joselu while van der Hoorn is injured for the Swans and is replaced by Roberts.
GOAL! Swansea take the lead after Ayew was found in the box by a van der Hoorn cross. He heads straight at Darlow and the keeper saves but the rebound goes straight to Ayew and he scores at the second time of asking. 0-1.
Not much is happening at St. James' Park at the moment. It's been poor an attacking front for both sides so far today with neither keeper really being stretched and chances few and far between.
Swansea have a good spell and look threatening after Clark and Lascelles combine to make difficult work of clearing a cross for a corner. The corner in from Ki is flat and goes across the six yard with no Swansea player there to put the ball away.
CHANCE! Perez wins the ball in midfield and plays it through for Gayle to run onto. Gayle gets onto the pass and attempts to shoot from a tight angle on the left, but his effort slides wide of the far post.
We're back underway for the second half with both sides unchanged at the break.
Half time at St. James' Park and it remains goalless at the break. Newcastle have been the better side in the opening 45 minutes but haven't been able to turn those superiority into a goal as yet. All to play for in the second half. 0-0.
CHANCE! Bartley has an opportunity to head at goal from a corner after he's well found with a driven ball from Ki, but it goes just over the bar.
Swansea have a free kick in midfield once again and it's chipped in towards the box. Darlow comes out to claim and the referee brings the Swans' attack to an end as he penalises the visitors for a foul on the Newcastle keeper.
DISALLOWED! Newcastle have the ball in the back of the net as Perez heads in from close range, but it's rightly ruled out for offside.
CHANCE! Swansea have a corner which is played in deep for Bartley to head to ball towards the centre. van der Hoorn gets onto the header and directs it towards goal, but Diame provides a vital block.
WASTED! Shelvey looks shoot powerfully towards the keepers side of the goal, away from the wall, but his effort goes high and wide.
Newcastle have a free kick on the edge of the box after Astu was sandwiched off the ball by Clucas and Bartley.
CHANCE! Perez is found by a long Ritchie ball and brings it down well to shoot but Fabianski saves well. Perez then looks to shoot from a tight angle from the rebound, but he can only get a corner, which comes to nothing.
CHANCE! Atsu brings the ball down brilliantly with his chest before beating van der Hoorn and crossing low for Dummett to shoot first time, but the effort from the full back goes just over the bar.
Swansea have a free kick in right midfield which is chipped into the box. It's a waste though as Newcastle are able to clear quickly before having a counterattack of their own, which comes to nothing.
Swansea have their first real attack at the Newcastle goal as Ollsson is found with a long ball. He stands his defender up before crossing towards McBurnie. The cross is just behind the Swansea youngster, however, and he shoots over.
CHANCE! Nearly for the Magpies after a brilliant run down the left from Perez sees him stand the ball up for Gayle in the middle. The Newcastle forward somehow heads wide from close range, however, and Swansea escape.
Newcastle go long with a free kick from deep as they look to head the ball back across the face of goal for the forwards to attack it, but Swansea are doing well to deny the hosts so far.
Yellow card for Bartley after makng a cynical foul on Gayle as he looked to break down the left wing.
It's been all Newcastle in the opening minutes with Swansea not seeing much of the ball. The lastest attack for the hosts comes to a quick end as Diame shoots wide of the target with not much else on.
CHANCE! Dummett does well to get down the left wing before putting a beautiful ball into the box. It goes to Gayle who is unmarked in the area and he heads at goal, but it's straight at Fabianski who saves easily.

This is a game that sees two strugglers go head-to-head for what could prove to be a valuable three points for both sides as Newcastle are just two points away from the relegation zone and Swansea at the foot of the table, four points from safety.
Swansea make three changes to the side that started in their 2-0 defeat against Spurs last time out. Fernandez, Sanches and Rangel are out of the side with Bartley, Ki and McBurnie all coming in.
Newcastle make two changes to the side that beat Stoke 1-0 on New Years Day with Manquillo and Murphy dropping to the bench as Dummett and Gayle start.
