Full-time here at Vicarage Road and Watford have salvaged a point in the dying minutes of the game as Ward-Prowse's brace was countered out by Gray's early second half goal and Doucoure's late equalizer, Watford 2-2 Southampton.
Double substitution in vain for the visitors as Ward-Prowse and Tadic make way for Boufal and Sims.
GOAL! Doucoure snatches a late equalizer for the hosts! Doucoure gets his seventh goal of the season by pushing the ball into his net with his right hand after getting onto a chipped pass into the box. Massive turnaround for the hosts!
Saints are trying to keep the ball as much as possible in these final stages. So much so that Tadic is booked for arguing with Janmaat about who won the throw-in.
Momentary break in play as Okaka is down holding his face after making contact with McCarthy when the 'keeper was punching the ball clear.
Ward-Prowse swings in a free-kick from the left but it lands safely in the hands of Gomes. Just over five minutes left of normal time, can Marco Silva's men snatch a late equalizer?
YELLOW! McCarthy is now in the book after carrying out some traditional time wasting.
YELLOW! Romeu is the next man in the book after he fouled the Hornets substitute, Okaka.
CHANCE! Zeegelaar does well to put in a deep cross which finds the head of Troy Deeney at the back post, he knocks it back down for Okaka who gets a boot to it before McCarthy gathers.
Okaka's introduction means Watford are going to use a more direct approach, especially as he's playing alongside Deeney. Could be an interesting last 15 minutes.
The home fans sing the name of former manager Graham Taylor, while Okaka replaces Gray.
Watford continue to pile on the pressure as they look for a way back into the game as Janmaat whips in a low cross from the right but a stooping Gray can only get under the ball so heads the ball high and wide.
Bertrand looks okay and comes back straight into the action as the fullback swings in a cross from the left but Hojberg heads the ball well over from 18 yards out.
Bertrand is down having treatment on a knee injury at the moment. Saints must be hoping the delay will take some of the sting out of the game, as Watford are certainly on top at the moment.
Hoedt saves a certain goal by getting across to read Gray's pass which was set to land at Deeney's feet who would have had a free shot on goal from a matter of yards out.
Substitution from the visitors as Lemina comes on in place of Davis, defensive substitution from the guests..
GOAL! Watford pull one back! Andre Gray puts his name on the score sheet! Janmaat does well to get a thunderous strike off that was tipped onto the post by McCarthy but Gray was on hand to head home from the rebound.
CLOSE! There's some pinball in the Southampton box as the ball eventually falls to the feet of Pereyra 18 yards from goals but he sends his shot wide of the post.
It's been very physical since the restart, on this occasion there was some tussling in the box as Gray and Hoedt battle for the ball with the defender just about getting it clear.
Roger East gets us back underway for the second half with Troy Deeney replacing Ben Watson meaning the hosts now have two strikers on the field, can Marco Silva's men pull off a miracle?
Silva will be pushing his side forward, especially now they have two strikers on the pitch but that really could help Southampton who have looked fantastic on the break.
CHANCE! Janmaat sends a lovely cross to the back post but Richarlison gets underneath the ball so can only head it up and over. Promising start to the second half for the hosts..
Half-time here at Vicarage Road and Ward-Prowse's brace is the difference between the sides as Marco Silva's men haven't rocked up today and haven't made it difficult for the visitors. Big second half for the Hornets..
GOAL! It's 3 goals in 2 games for Ward-Prowse! Soton strike again just before half-time as the Englishman doubles his tally for the day, Long broke down the left before feeding Tadic who found the goalscorer!
Atrocious scenes here at Vicarage Road as Marco Silva and his players are currently being booed by their own fans, which won't help with the low confidence of the players.
The home team just haven't got into the game and rarely look like creating chances, whereas Southampton look neat and tidy on the ball and could have had a second if it wasn't for some last ditch defending.
SHOT! Watson curls in a free-kick from a central position and it lands on the head of Kabasele who sends the ball just over the bar from 16 yards.
Unfortunately we have our first substitution of the game and it's a forced one as Pereyra comes on for the injured Cleverley after some confusion as Watson tried to make his way off.
BLOCK! Tadic wins a 50:50 with Janmaat, then crosses to the back post for Long but Zeegelaar throws himself in front of the shot from six yards to send it wide.
YELLOW! Cleverley looks to get away from Hojberg but the Saints midfielder takes down the Watford man from the side, leaving the referee with no option but to caution him.
The home team do not look particularly dynamic as Doucoure over hits a pass meant for Gray but it doesn't really matter as the striker didn't read where it was going anyway.
SAVE! Centre-back Hoedt tries to chip Gomes from 40 yards but the goalkeeper just about gets back to tip the ball over the bar.
SAVE! More luck down the right for Saints as Tadic sends in a deep cross to the back post where Long rises highest but Gomes reacts to palm the ball away from goal.
GOAL! Southampton take the lead! And it's that man James Ward-Prowse with his second goal this week as Long gets to the byline from where he pulls the ball back for Ward-Prowse to pass home!
SAVE! After a period of sustained pressure from Watford, the ball lands at the feet of Janmaat on the edge of the area from where he struck a rising drive, forcing McCarthy to tip the ball over.
Long heads clear a Watford corner, forcing the home team to build from the back but all Gomes can achieve is sending a long ball out of play.
Saints push forward and the ball reaches Bertrand down the left but he overhits his cross and it goes straight out for a throw on the opposite flank.
Plenty of over hit, under hit and misplaced passes so far in the opening 15 minutes here.
From the stands to the pitch, this is all a bit flat at the moment. The closest we've had to a chance was Long's shot while offside.
Few aimless passes from both teams is shutting down any chance of a testing either keeper, both sides still look a little slow on the ball..
CHANCE! Watford fail to clear their lines from a cross allowing Romeu to play in Long who had a shot from eight yards stopped by Gomes. The referee blew his whistle followed by a belated flag from the assistant, which was all a little odd.
A slow start at Vicarage Road as both teams look a touch short of confidence. The only thing of note so far is Long pushing Zeegelaar over for no reason.
Referee Roger East will be commanding this fixture, as he gets us underway with the home crowd making a loud roar upon kick-off.
Southampton sit in 17th place outside the drop zone on goal difference alone while the Hornets sitting pretty in 10th despite their poor form, both sides could do with three points here today but it looks more important for the visitors.
The Saints in a similar position as the hosts as they are without a win in nine league fixtures, they too found some success in the FA Cup as they beat Fulham 1-0 during the week with Ward-Prowse scoring the goal.
Hornets boss Marco Silva will be looking to turn around a rough run of league fixtures after his side has found just one win in their last nine league encounters, he will be looking to improve on their 3-0 win against Bristol City in the FA Cup.
Soton XI: McCarthy, Bertrand, Hoedt, Stephens, Soares, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Davis, Tadic, Long.
Substitutes: Forster, Bednarek, Pied, Lemina, Boufal, Sims, Gabbiadini.
Watford XI: Gomes, Janmaat, Wague, Kabasele, Zeegelaar, Watson, Doucoure, Carrillo, Cleverley, Richarlison, Gray.
