West Ham turn down Arnautovic bid from Chinese Club

Cape Town - West Ham United have rejected a £35m bid from an unnamed Chinese club for forward Marko Arnautovic, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers acquired the Austria international for £20m from Stoke in 2017 and have him under contract until 2022.

But despite the hefty bid for the 29-year-old, West Ham are not interested in getting rid of him at that price, saying that "£35m would be nowhere near enough for such a key player".

Arnautovic has scored eight goals in 17 appearances this term and is already nearing the 11 goals he scored during the whole of last season.

The Austrian appeared visibly unhappy after being substituted during Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham after scoring a goal, but West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini says the matter was quickly resolved.

"He [Arnautovic] was angry for just one minute, that is it."

When asked about the possibility of Arnautovic leaving during the January transfer window, Pellegrini added: "I am sure Marko Arnautovic will stay here with us."
