Cape Town - Borussia
Dortmund manager Peter Bosz doesn't think Real Madrid should be
considered favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season.
The BVB lost 3-2 to the defending champions, who won the Champions League back-to-back over the past two seasons, and were consequently knocked out of the competition. Borja Mayoral opened the scoring for Real and Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead five minutes later. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a brace to level matters, but Lucas Vazquez scored the winner in the 81st minute.
Despite losing at the Santiago Bernabeu, Bosz still wouldn't label Zinedine Zidane's charges as the outright favourites to clinch another European title.
"After today's game, I don't know if it is possible to say that Real Madrid are the favourite to win the Champions League," Bosz told his press conference, according to FourFourTwo.
"They were not very strong tonight.
"Although, it is true that they rested many players and they are one of the favourites."
"We wanted to continue in the Champions League," he added. "Now we will put everything we have into the Europa League.
