According to the Rugby365 website, the Kings scored the only try of a drab match, winning 13-3.

Playing with the breeze at their backs and in the pouring rain in the first half, the Kings managed to keep the Stormers scoreless in the first half-hour.

The hosts capitalised on the pressure, with prop Rossouw de Klerk going over for the opening score.

Flyhalf Bader Pretorius added the conversion.

The Stormers replied with a penalty from flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis to make it 7-3 after 35 minutes - which was also the half-time score.

Despite the wind at their backs, the Stormers failed to crack the Kings’ defence after the break.

Pretorius added two penalties for the only scores of the second half.

The Kings will next be in action in their PRO14 derby against the Cheetahs in Nelson Mandela Bay on Saturday, January 25, while the Stormers' final pre-season Super Rugby outing is against the Sharks in the first match of Vodacom Superhero Sunday at the FNB Stadium on Sunday, January 19.

Kick-off is at 13:00.

The Stormers open their 2020 Super Rugby campaign against the Hurricanes at Newlands on Saturday, February 1.
