Sage cracks nod for Vancouver Dream Team

Cape Town - South Africa’s Dylan Sage was included in the Dream Team following the conclusion of the Canada Sevens in Vancouver this past weekend.

The Blitzboks finished third at the tournament after defeating the USA 29-7 in the Bronze final.

The South Africans had earlier lost 15-12 to eventual champions Fiji in the Cup semi-finals.

In the Cup quarter-finals, the Springbok Sevens side came from 19-0 down to beat Australia 24-19, with Sage scoring the winning try after the hooter.

Sage was subsequently rewarded for his efforts in Vancouver with Dream Team honours.

The other players included in the Dream Team were Fijians Kalione Nasoko and Eroni Sau, Kenyans Oscar Ouma and Collins Injera, Australia’s John Porch and America’s Perry Baker.

Fiji beat Kenya 31-12 in the Cup final, but South Africa maintained their overall series lead.
