Gibbins? first start of the season means Ardie Savea will play at number eight with Reed Prinsep moving to the reserves, while loosehead prop Chris Eves and full-back Jordie Barrett come into the starting side, replacing the injured Loni Uhila (calf) and Nehe Milner-Skudder (fractured foot) respectively.
Highlanders full-back Ben Smith returns from a concussion while Fletcher Smith will play just his third match for the club at fly-half. Young Otago openside Dillon Hunt will get his chance to start as Elliot Dixon shifts to blindside and Gareth Evans moves to the bench.
