Sharks suffer Jordaan blow

Durban - The Cell C Sharks take on Western Province at Newlands in their last pool match of the group stages of the Currie Cup tournament.

Despite a playoff spot already guaranteed, the Sharks are determined to display a strong showing in Cape Town so that they continue to build momentum going into the playoff week, reports Sharks website editor Michael Marnewick.

Ahead of this weekend’s match, Sharks team doctor Alan Kourie, has released a medical update on Paul Jordaan and Kyle Cooper.

Jordaan, who left the field seven minutes into their Currie Cup clash against the Golden Lions, has suffered a fracture dislocation on his hip and has undergone surgery, which will rule him out of action for approximately six months.

Cooper will not be considered for selection after sustaining an ankle injury in the same match in which they narrowly beat the Lions 26-23.
