Armstrong takes cheeky dig at TDF winner Thomas

Cape Town - Confessed drugs cheat Lance Armstrong has taken to social media to troll Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas following the 2018 champion having his trophy stolen.

Thomas is pleading with the thieves who stole his trophy, after it was stolen late last month from a cycle show in Birmingham, to return it.

According to the Stuff website, in a cheeky dig on Twitter, Armstrong shared a media story on the theft with a comment: "G - bummer, dude. I got 7 of em if you wanna borrow one (sic)."

Armstrong might still be in possession of his trophies and jerseys, but he was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and given a lifetime ban by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) when he decided not to contest USADA drugs charges back in 2012.

Police are investigating the theft of the Coupe Omnisports, the trophy presented each year to the Tour de France winner.

Armstrong, now 47, won cycling's greatest race around France for seven consecutive years between 1999-2005 before being stripped of the titles.
