Gatlin pips Simbine in 100m at Golden Spike meet

Cape Town - World champion Justin Gatlin has won the 100m event at the 57th Ostrava Golden Spike meet, pushing South Africa's Akani Simbine into second place. 

The American stopped the clock in 10.03 with Simbine crossing the line in 10.13, just ahead of another American, Michael Rogers, who finished third in 10.15.

In the 200m event, Anaso Jobodwana finished sixth in a field of eight, stopping the clock in a time of 20.48. The race was won by Aaron Brown of Canada in a time of 20.05.

Finally, in the long jump event, the South African duo of Luvo Manyonga (8.31) and Ruswahl Samaai (8.15) finished second and third respectively, with Juan Miguel Echevarria of Cuba winning with a leap of 8.66m.
