Ronwen Williams keeps on rising to new levels in his career this season with unmatched numbers that are redefining South African goalkeeping standards.
The Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper is in contention to win the PSL Footballer of the Season, DStv Premiership Players’ Player of the Season, and Goalkeeper of the Season and is arguing his case to good effect between the poles.

Over the weekend, it was what has become a trademark as he saved Iqraam Rayners’ effort from the penalty.
With that save, Williams went on to earn what counted as clean sheet number 15 in 20 games in the DStv Premiership.
This means he has played 1350 minutes of league football without conceding.
The 32-year-old has conceded only six goals in the league this season with Moroka Swallows (twice), Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, and Sekhukhune United the only clubs with players that have beaten him in the league this season.
Broken down, it shows that he concedes at an average of a goal every 120 minutes in the league.
Beyond the league, Williams reached a massive 30 clean sheets in all competitions for Sundowns this season.
He has played 43 games for the Brazilians and conceded just 15 goals.
It has only been in two games – against Wydad Casablanca in the African Football League and Moroka Swallows – that he conceded twice.

Williams has also played 11 games for Bafana Bafana this season including every minute at the AFCON finals where he was voted the best keeper.
This pushes the keeper from the Eastern Cape to just over 4980 minutes setting towards becoming the first player attached to a South African club to surpass 5000 minutes of football for both club and country in a single season.
