South Africa won by 117 runs
Presentation - There was not much competition for the Man of the Match award which goes to AB de Villiers. The Man of the Series award goes to Ryan McLaren for his good all-round performances.
Result - South Africa won by 117 runs and have won the series 4-1. Philander and Tsotsobe caused early strife, having Pakistan 17/3. The impressive young Sohaib Maqsood led a recovery with a second half-century, with some support from Umar Akmal. Parnell and Duminy triggered a late collapse, so typical of the Pakistan batting in this series, as 4 wickets fell for 3 runs. After an indifferent start Parnell finished with 3/36 and Duminy struck in his first over to claim 2/14, sadly again outshining the specialist spinner. Philander and McLaren claimed two apiece and Tsotsobe one.
Over 35.3 - Pakistan 151 all out - WICKET! Sohail Tanvir c de Kock b McLaren 15 (17). Tanvir was almost caught off both of the preceding ball, taking two to midwicket and then beating the man at deep square leg. But the next one took the edge and that is the ball game. Junaid Khan not out 1 (4). McLaren 4.3-1-21-2.
Peterson back on, and is nicely swept by Tanvir to the boundary. There is almost a run out off the next ball as Junaid wanted to give the strike back to him. Peterson 5-0-29-0.
WICKET! Mohammad Irfan c Amla b Parnell 0 (6). A throat ball to the lanky Irfan, and he can't get the gloves out of the way. it loops up to slip for an easy catch. Almost a run out as de Kock makes a good stop down the leg side and the batsmen scamper a single. A lusty drive down the ground just beats the leaping Tsotsobe. Parnell 7-1-36-3.
Maiden for Duminy as Tanvir looks intent on getting some batting practice. Duminy 4-1-14-2.
oVER 33 - Pak 131/8 - Tanvir 0 (8) Irfan 0 (4) - Maiden for Duminy as Tanvir looks intent on getting some batting practice. Duminy 4-1-14-2.
WICKET! Saeed Ajmal lbw b Parnell 1 (6). Hit in front and another one gone as Pakistan plunge deeper into trouble. No reviews left, and that was hitting middle and leg anyway. Maiden wicket for the bowler. Parnell 6-1-29-2.
WICKET! Sohaib Maqsood c Philander b Duminy 53 (65). He hit the previous ball unconvincingly over extra cover, but now he goes for the lofted drive but it comes off the toe of the bat and Philander will make no mistake at a deep mid off. Duminy 3-0-14-2.
WICKET! Shahid Afridi c & b Parnell 9 (10). Short ball and Afridi is after it, but it comes off the top edge and Parnell will get under it..Parnell 5-0-29-1.
A lovely back foot drive from Maqsood takes him to 49. and then he can push to mid wicket to get to his FIFTY off 62 balls. Duminy 2-0-11-1.
Tsotsobe returns and has Maqsood groping outside off stump. Afridi into position for a short ball quickly, and smashes it through mid wicket. Tsotsobe 7-0-28-1.
WICKET! Umar Akmal lbw b Duminy 30 (38). Duminy strikes early again as Akmal went on the sweep. It was plumb in front but he asks for the REVIEW immediately. He must have thought that he hit it first, and it did go off the pad onto the glove, but that is out. Duminy 1-0-4-1.
DROPPED again as Akmal gives catching practice to mid wicket. De Villiers had some ground to make and did get a hand to it but could not hold on. These two batsmen already have a 50 partnership. Philander 8-2-23-2.
Short of a length from Parnell and sweetly timed between point and 3rd by Akmal for a boundary. Another ball on the hip is put away past short fine leg. Parnell 4-0-26-0.
Akmal plays almost a tennis smash to the Philander bouncer. Philander 7-2-20-2.
Some punishment for Parnell as one short ball goes over the batsman for a wide, and then from the bat as Maqsood smashes one over long on. DROPPED! A regulation edge from Umar Akmal is put down by de Kock. Parnell 3-0-15-0.
Philander returns to the attack, and his first ball is driven back over his head. Not too much more in the way of length balls as he gives up just a single off the last five balls. Philander 6-2-17-2.
Akmal easily works one off his ribcage. A half-stop at mid on denies Maqsood anything more than a single. Parnell 2-0-6-0.
Maqsood dances down the track and lashes Peterson over extra cover. More conservative play for the rest of the over adds another 3 singles. Peterson 4-0-23-0.
Parnell comes into the attack and bowls a good length. Parnell 1-0-3-0.
Akmal throws the bat at the first ball and it is a thick edge over point. Maqsood pushes one out to deep cover. Peterson 3-0-16-0.
WICKET! Misbah-ul-Haq c Miller b McLaren 18 (25). A lazy shot from the skipper, paddling it into the hands of Miller at square leg. That might have been too quick for him. Maqsood is beaten as McLaren gets one to move away off the seam. McLaren 4-1-14-1.
DRINKS. Peterson finds the edge of Maqsood's bat but he gets a couple of runs. Better over for the left arm spinner. Peterson 2-0-11-0.
A play and miss from Misbah; most of his shots have been middled so far. A good line on the last few balls and he completes a maiden. McLaren 3-1-11-0.
Comedy of errors on Peterson's first ball as Misbah backs away to cut off toe of the bat, profiting by an overthrow. Excellent fielding by Miller as Misbah goes on the reverse sweep, but his elbow touched the sponge so it was all in vain. Peterson 1-0-7-0.
Maqsood goes over mid on, one bounce and four as it came low off the bat. He somehow gets throught he last two balls, miscuing one back over the bowler which lands between two converging fielders, and then a thick edge wide of slip. McLaren 2-0-11-0.
Slower ball from Tsotsobe, and Misbah hits it back into the stands, over the sightscreen. He becomes the third Pakistan captain to score 2 000 runs while in charge. Tsotsobe 6-0-22-1.
McLaren into the attack, and he gets one to lift into the gloves as Maqsood took his eye off the ball. He is uncomfortable getting under another bouncer which ends the over. McLaren 1-0-1-0.
Maqsood makes the most of a short ball, pulling for four. The next is fuller and he plays down the ground, but this will be hauled in by Parnell. He digs out the yorker as the Power Play comes to an end. Tsotsobe 5-0-15-1.
WICKET! Umar Amin lbw b Philander 5 (13). Pitches on line and was hitting half way up middle stump, they don't come plumber than that. Pakistan have been over-optimistic in calling for reviews, but even this time Amin knows it would be a waste. Some thick edges as Misbah comes to the crease. Maqsood strikes one nicely down the ground, but McLaren chases all the way to save one. Philander 5-2-12-2.
Good fielding by Parnell backs up the bowling effort. Tsotsobe beats Amin as he goes a bit wider in the bowling crease. The last ball is played in the air to square leg but safely between two fielders. Tsotsobe 4-0-9-1.
Impeccable grouping from Philander. His bouncer is a bit lower and a fair delivery. However, the last ball is not short enough and whacked to the square leg boundary. Philander 4-2-8-1.
Three wides in that over, starting wide of off stump. Tsotsobe finished with a bouncer, but that was called wide as well and then he fired the next way outsdie off. Tsotsobe 3-0-7-1.
WICKET! Mohammad Hafeez b Philander 6 (16). Hafeez wanted to work Philander off the back foot, but it nipped in enough to beat the bat and rattle the top of off stump. Philander 3-2-4-1.
WICKET! Ahmed Shehzad c Philander b Tsotsobe 2 (13). Shehzad a bit cramped there and he tries to flick it, but straight to Philander at fine leg. Tsotsobe 2-0-4-1.
Shehzad gets right behind the line, and plays out a maiden over, the first of the match. Philander 2-1-4-0.
Tsotsobe gets some extra bounce, and the ball loops off the shoulder of Hafeez's bat. it carries just beyond the reach of de Villiers, running back from slip. Tsotsobe 1-0-3-0.
Philander strays on leg stump and Hafeez is off the mark with a boundary despite the efforts of Parnell at long leg. He is struck on the back thigh as he tries to pull one away. Philander 1-0-4-0.
End of innings - SA made a slow start after winning the toss, with de Kock (36) and du Plessis (46) keeping the board ticking over. Wickets fell in the middle order, and at 150/5 in the 39th over it looked like SA were set for a moderate target. However, de Villiers put his foot on the gas at the right time as 114 runs were added in the last ten overs. McLaren was a solid partner in a stand of 83, while de Villiers played every shot in the book to go to his 15th ODI century. His 50 came off a sedate 70 balls; the next 32 he faced went for 65. He hit 10 fours and 3 sixes on a pitch where it had at times seemed impossible to hit a boundary. Saeed Ajmal took 3/45 and Junaid Khan 2/57. Mohammad Hafeez took a wicket in his first three-over spell, but did not return to the attack as the seamers were favoured at the death. Pakistan face a target of 269, to be scored at 5.4 to the over if they wish to end the series at 2-3.
HUNDRED for AB de Villiers off 99 balls, slog sweeping Tanvir. The next clears long on for 6. He passes 6 000 ODI runs and just keeps hitting, inside out over Tanvir. The last goes through the covers as the last over brought 25 runs after a four and a very well run three from Parnell earlier in the over. Tanvir 8-0-58-0.
SA 243/7 - de Villiers 97 (98) Parnell 1 (2) - WICKET! Peterson b Junaid Khan 2 (2). Peterson heaves across the line and the ball hits the top of middle and leg, but he can be forgiven under the circumstances. Parnell comes in and promptly gets an inside edge. Junaid 9-0-57-2.
WICKET! McLaren c Junaid Khan b Saeed Ajmal 27 (24). Sweeps, but to short fine leg to give Ajmal his third wicket from his last ball. De Villiers hit two delightful boundaries, sweeping a faster ball and then placing the next between mid off and extra cover. Ajmal 10-0-45-3.
Runs continue to flow as McLaren takes boundaries off each of the first three balls of the over, two of them on leg stump. Junaid 8-0-49-1.
De Villiers misses a slower short ball, and he and umpire Illingworth see the funny side - perhaps not Misbah as the keeper missed it as well to concede four byes and see the 200 on the board. De Villiers slaps the next ball over mid wicket, just clearing Afridi, for a boundary. Tanvir 7-0-33-0.
De Villiers is trying some audicious shots now, sweeping the fast bowler but into his pads. Junaid 7-0-35-1.
Sohail Tanvir starts a new spell around the wicket to de Villiers, angling the first ball down leg and it is helped on its way to the boundary. de Villiers is dominating the strike, which his team will not mind at all as the runs have been flowing at over 7 to the voer for the last 5 overs. Tanvir 6-0-25-0.
De Villiers on the charge now, carving one over cover and then slog sweeping for maximum. Ajmal 9-0-35-2.
Successive boundaries for McMillan as he tickles one off the pad and cuts the next. Good running from de Villiers as McLaren tickles one to the keeper. irfan completes his spell with figures of 10-0-52-1.
FIFTY for de Villiers off 70 balls, getting there with a 6 over mid wicket as Ajmal drops one short. Ajmal 8-0-24-2.
The batting power play produced just 21 runs, and 1 wicket. Irfan 9-0-42-1.
WICKET! Miller c & b Saeed Ajmal 15 (25). Miller pushes the quicker ball back to the bowler. That was Ajmal's 47th wicket in 2013, taking him to the top of the log. McLaren has to negotiate an lbw shout before the over is completed. Ajmal 7-0-17-2.
Irfan returns and is giving the batsmen a few problems. Irfan 8-0-39-1.
Ajmal is back and the batsmen can still do little more than push the odd single. Ajmal 6-0-16-1.
POWER PLAY and Ajmal came walking up to bowl, but the skipper changed his mind and let Junaid continue. Miller made the most of one short ball, pulling powerfully to the mid wicket boundary. Junaid 6-0-29-1.
Drinks, and when we resume it will be PowerPlay time. Afridi will be spared any carnage in that time as his overs are done for today. Afridi 10-0-37-0.
Good over from Junaid as the graft in the middle continues. Junaid 5-0-20-1.
Another good over from Afridi as there are no freebies for the new batsman. Miller does manage to get a few singles away. Afridi 9-0-33-0.
WICKET! Du Plessis c Sohail Tanvir b Junaid Khan 46 (89). Du Plessis goes for the leg side flick, but he picks out the fielder at deep mid wicket. The look on his face shows that he knows he has given it away. Junaid 4-0-19-1.
Good over for fpr SA. accumulating seven without taking a risk. It did help that a wide down the leg side beat the keeper for a couple of extras. Afridi 8-0-30-0.
Junaid varies his pace but the batsmen are watchful for now. Teh 50 partnership is on the board now. Junaid 3-0-16-0.
O(ver 29 - SA 110/3 - du Plessis 41 (80) de Villiers 26 (40) - Just a few more singles to keep things ticking over, de Villiers showing a nice straight bat. Afridi 7-0-23-0.
Du Plessis gets some length and can free his arms at last, belting the last ball over long on for a rare 4. Junaid 2-0-12-0.
Afridi mixing up his deliveries, and has du Plessis guessing at times. Still the singles are mounting while the batsmen battle to find the room to play the big shots. Afridi 6-0-20-0.
Junaid Khan into the attack for the first time, and beats du Plessis as he tries to come forward to counter the movement. He decides to follow his captain's example by moving across his stumps. De Villiers continues to tick off the singles almost at will. Junaid 1-0-3-0.
The frustration continues, especially for du Plessis. He backs away to the last ball but can only chop it into the ground. Afrid 5-0-17-0.
De Villiers gets almost outside the return crease on the off side to work it to leg, but du Plessis is beaten by the next one. He lets another wide one go, slanted across him but not too far in the umpire's opinion. Irfan 7-0-34-1.
A misfield at mid on gifts de Villiers a single, one which can hardly be afforded in what might be a low-scoring game. Du Plessis dances down the track and plays a delightful on drive for a rare boundary. Afridi 4-0-14-0.
De Villiers got some width and was tempted into the drive, first shot in anger for a while, but it flashed past the outside edge. Irfan looks daggers at du Plessis after he also plays and misses. Irfan 6-0-33-1.
Du Plessis battles to get the ball off the square, while de Villiers seems to be rotating the strike nicely. Afridi 3-0-7-0.
Not much happening off the pitch and the batsman had to resort to a risky single or two to keep the board moving. Irfan 5-0-32-1.
The batsmen are still struggling to come to terms with the slow pitch, and just a couple of singles in that over. Afridi 2-0-5-0.
Irfan back and will not be pleased by the fielding. Ajmal had a chance of a run out from mid on but misfielded, and then Tanvir made a lazy effort at 3rd man. De Villiers then got an edge but it was short of slip. Irfan 4-0-29-1.
Afridi into the attack and gets some nice drift. Drinks. Afridi 1-0-3-0.
WICKET! Duminy c Ahmed Shehzad b Mohammad Hafeez 2 (9). Duminy tries to work one through mid wicket off the back foot, but it was in the air and Shehzad dives forward to take a good catch. Hafeez 3-0-10-1.
Good over from Ajmal as well, although he did slip one down leg side for a wide. Ajmal 5-0-13-1.
Tight over from Hafeez as they are restricted to a single apiece. Hafeez 2-0-5-0.
WICKET! De Kock lbw b Saeed Ajmal 34 (41). That one goes straight on from around the wicket, and de Kock wanted to work it to leg. He does not even consider the review as that was hitting middle and leg. An LBW appeal against Duminy first ball up in the hope that it was pad first, and they decide not to ask for a review. Ajmal 4-0-11-1.
And more off-spin in the shape of Mohammad Hafeez. Both batsmen knock one down the ground, but just the two singles. Hafeez 1-0-2-0.
Du Plessis edges past slip to bring up the 50. At the other end, de Kock is being frustrated by the slow pace of Ajmal's bowling and some good fielding by Misbah. Ajmal 3-0-9-0.
De Kock strikes one nicely through the covers as the PowerPlay comes to an end. He was looking to score off the rest, but Tanvir gave him little room to manouevre. Tanvir 5-0-18-0

Ajmal into the attack early and is finding some turn already. Du Plessis tries to get across the stumps a few times, and does succeed in knocking one down to long leg. Ajmal 1-0-2-0.
De Kock happy to get a short ball that is not all that fast and sits up to be hit. Another inside edge finds a fielder. Tanvir 3-0-8-0.
Irfan 3-0-23-1. The first boundary comes up as irfan drops one a bit short and is pulled to mid wicket. The next ball is fuller and slower, but nicely pushed to long off. Three in a row with a luckier shot, inside edge down to fine leg, er make that 4 as he inside edges past short fine leg again. 17 in the over.
De Kock is still watchful but did attempt a shot or two. He gets the last one away to long leg. Tanvir 2-0-5-0.
Just a couple of wides in that over. Irfan is getting some bounce, forcing du Plessis to whip the hand off the bat as he defends. Irfan 2-0-6-1.
