Warner compares 'world-class' Archer to Dale Steyn

Cape Town - David Warner has described Jofra Archer as world-class and said the England fast bowler reminds him of Proteas legend Dale Steyn.

Archer took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket on the first day of the third Ashes Test as England bowled the visitors out for 179 at Headingley.

Archer, playing in only his second Test after making his debut at Lord's last week, took 6-45 in 17.1 overs and Warner, who struck 61, was impressed.

The Australia opening batsman said the Barbados-born paceman reminded him of how Steyn operated with the new ball.

Warner told reporters after the day's play in Yorkshire: "That was incredible Test bowling. England put the ball in the right areas.

"He bowled at bit like Dale Steyn with the new ball, tried to use the conditions and ramp it up when he needed to.

"It was world-class bowling at its best."

England will hope to bat big on day two as they seek to level the five-match series.
