Cape Town - South Africa’s Raven Klaasen and his playing partner Rajeev Ram are into the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles event at Wimbledon.
Klaassen and his American partner, who are the 11th seeds, on Monday defeated the fifth seeded pairing of Ivan Dodig (Coatia) and Marcelo Melo (Brazil).
Klaassen and Ram won in straight sets with a scoreline of 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/5), 6-3.
Irrespective of who they play in the quarter-finals, a tough task awaits Klaasen and Ram as they will face the winners of the match between 14th seeds Radek Stepanek (Czech Republic) and Nenad Zimonjic (Serbia) and second seeded Americans Bob and Mike Bryan.
The Bryan brothers have won 16 men's doubles Grand Slams together, while Stepanek and Zimonjic both have won majors in doubles.
