No sweat as Anderson cruises into Wimbledon 2nd round

Cape Town - Kevin Anderson has negotiated his first hurdle at Wimbledon by beating qualifier Norbert Gombos of Slovakia in three sets in a first round encounter.

Anderson won 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4 under two hours on Monday.

The big-serving South African, who had lost in the first round at Queen's Club in the lead up to Wimbledon, smashed 20 aces during the encounter and was successful with 68 percent of his first serves. 

In other matches on Monday, defending champion Roger Federer, Marin Cilic and Serena Williams moved into the second round.
