On Friday Anderson reached his maiden Wimbledon final after a record-breaking marathon semi-final victory over American John Isner which lasted a staggering six hours and 36 minutes, making it the longest semi-final in Grand Slam history - and the second longest Grand Slam match of all time.

Anderson prevailed 7-6 (8/6), 6-7 (5/7), 6-7 (9/11), 6-4, 26-24 and awaits the winner of the second semi-final between world No 1 Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

On Wednesday, Anderson stunned the tennis world when he knocked the King of Wimbledon, eight-time champion Roger Federer, out of the tournament in their quarter-final clash.

Given little hope of victory by all and sundry, Anderson, joined an exclusive club when he came back from two sets down to win in five sets, clinching the decider 13-11.

By reaching the final, Anderson is assured of at least £1.125m (R20 million) in prize money.

Should the stars align for the 32-year-old, a first ever Grand Slam victory would be worth a cool £2.25m (R40 million) - and will certainly please his bank manager!

According to the ATP Tour all-time money list, Anderson lies 47th with $11 658 256 (R157 million) in earnings to date.
