Djokovic baffled by Becker

London - Wimbledon finalist Novak Djokovic revealed his post-match debriefing with coach Boris Becker was cut short - because the German dashed off to watch his country's Soccer World Cup quarter-final.

Djokovic booked his third Wimbledon final appearance in four years with a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7/2), 7-6 (9/7) victory over Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov on Friday and then headed to the Centre Court locker room where he expected to analyse his performance with Becker.

But the Serb arrived to find Becker looking agitated and he was initially left confused when the three-time Wimbledon champion made his excuses and quickly disappeared.

Djokovic, who won Wimbledon in 2011, later realised that Becker, a passionate football fan who once had a trial with his boyhood heroes Bayern Munich, was keen to find a place to watch Germany face France in the World Cup in Brazil.

"That's why I haven't seen him for (the) last hour. I saw him after the match and he said 'Let's speak later'. I didn't realise, but then I saw the TV," Djokovic said with a smile.

"You could see he was a bit stressed after the match. I said 'Well, the match is over'. But he just said 'See you later'. I said 'Okay!'"

To cap a good day for Becker, who has been Djokovic's coach since the start of this year, the 46-year-old's scramble to find a television was rewarded as Germany won 1-0 to reach the semi-finals.
