Cape Town - Wimbledon semi-finalist Sabine Lisicki - who earlier this week knocked out world No 1 Serena Williams - is allergic to the grass surface at the All England Club.
The 23-year-old German on Tuesday reached the semi-finals when she defeated Estonia's Kaia Kanepi 6-3, 6-3. She stunned Williams 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 in the Round of 16 on Monday.
According to the Mail Online website, Lisicki has suffered from allergies throughout her career.
But the 23rd-seed, who says she loves coming to Wimbledon, has refused to let it ruin her lawn tennis dreams and takes medication to keep it under control.
Lisicki, who also made the Wimbledon semi-finals in 2011, will next face Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska on Thursday. The fourth-seeded Radwanska is the highest-ranked female remaining in the draw.
