Tianjin - Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the final of the Tianjin Open following her straight set win on Saturday.
The Dane eased past Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 6-4 on the hard courts of the Chinese
city to reach her second final in as many months.
Both players struggled to hold serve in the first set,
swapping breaks to level matters a 3-all. But Wozniacki rallied to win the
final three games and take the set.
After a marathon opening game in the second set, it looked as
though the world number 22 would wrap things up in no time at all as she raced
to a 4-0 lead.
While Jankovic would break back, it was too little too late
as Wozniacki wrapped up the set and the match.
Wozniacki is coming off a win at the Pan Pacific Open in Japan last month. She will face Kristina Mladenovic in the final on Sunday after the Frenchwoman upset eighth seed Daria Gavrilova 7-5, 6-3 in a touch over two hours later in the day.
