Williams beats Doi to win Taiwan Open

Taipei  - Venus Williams defeated Japan's Misaki Doi 6-4, 6-2 to win the Taiwan Open in Kaohsiung on Sunday.

The victory was the 49th WTA singles title for the seven-time Grand Slam winner, who did not lose a single set in the tournament.

It was the first time top-seed Williams, 35, had faced off against Doi, who was vying for her second title after winning the 2015 Luxembourg Open.
