Siniakova, Siegemund into Swedish Open final

Bastad - Katerina Siniakova ousted defending champion Johanna Larsson 7-5, 6-1 Saturday in the Swedish Open semi-finals as the 20-year-old Czech chases her first WTA title.

The 92nd-ranked Siniakova saved 11 of 14 break points against her Swedish opponent.

"I'm a very emotional player. Sometimes that's a benefit and sometimes a hindrance," Siniakova said. "Everything went fine today and I will fight hard for the title tomorrow".

She faces sixth-seeded Laura Siegemund, who won Saturday's other semi-final after German compatriot Julia Goerges retired with a hip injury. At the time Siegemund was leading 4-6, 6-3, 4-0.
