SA’s Fed Cup team off to Luxembourg

RENE Plant, South Africa’s Fed Cup captain, yesterday announced “a balanced team” for the Fed Cup Euro/Africa Zone Group 2 tournament to be played from February 6-9 in Luxembourg.

The team comprises Chanel Simmonds, Madrie le Roux, Theresa van Zyl, Imaan Hassim, Zani Barnard and Sinazo Solani, who will act as the team hitting partner. South Africa will be one of eight nations participating in the four-day tournament, which includes Austria, Bosnia and Portugal.

The event will be played indoors on hard courts. — WR.
