SA thrash Kenya in Fed Cup matchup

Cape Town - After dispatching hosts Montenegro on Monday, South Africa's Fed Cup team thrashed Kenya for a perfect start to the Europe/Africa Zone Group III event taking place in the city of Ulcinj. 

South Africa recorded a 3-0 victory, overpowering their African counterparts with ease.

There were wins for Katie Poluta and Chanel Simmonds in the singles as well as Minette Van Vreden and Madrie Le Roux in the doubles.

The South Africans are drawn in Pool A along with Montenegro, Finland and Kenya. 

In the other result from their pool, Finland beat Montenegro, 2-1. 

South Africa will now face Finland to see who tops the group.
