US Open champion Bianca Andreescu will use the enforced coronavirus lay-off to fine-tune her recovery from injury - while indulging her new Netflix addiction.
The 19-year-old has not played since the WTA Finals in October due to a knee injury, with several delayed returns causing nothing but frustration.
She had been on the verge of another comeback attempt when the WTA confirmed several tournament cancellations due to the coronavirus crisis.
"I'm just taking it day by day, doing better and better as the days go on," Andreescu told reporters in Canada.
"I'm very pleased about that. I’ve been doing a lot of rehab on my knee, a lot of strengthening.
Andreescu has been keeping herself distracted in a very millennial way, though, revealing a very modern addiction.
"I'm addicted to Netflix, I don't think that's a good thing. That's the best therapy for me!"
Andreescu had planned on returning at the Miami Open, but Covid-19 fears have put paid to those plans.
The crisis had forced postponements of all WTA events for the next five weeks, which should allow the Canadian to get herself back into shape for the French Open and Wimbledon - should they go ahead.
