Kuala Lumpur - Danish star Caroline Wozniacki beat Taiwanese ace Su-Wei Hsieh in straight sets at the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open on Saturday.

The top seed atoned for a first-round exit last year by beating Hsieh 6-2, 6-2 to reach the final.

Prior to the semi-final face-off, Hsieh who is the 2012 Malaysian Open champion, was showing good momentum throughout the week and was in form.

Wozniacki had advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Germany's Carina Witthoeft in straight sets at the quarter-finals on Friday. The Dane had won the match 6-3, 6-1.

In the other semi-final match on Saturday, Romania's Alexandra Dulgheru beat fouth-seed Jarmila Gajdosova from Australia.

Dulgheru won 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (7/4), clinching her place in the final against Wozniacki on Sunday.
