Vesnina toppled in Strasbourg

Strasbourg - Casey Dellacqua of Australia beat fifth-seeded Elena Vesnina of Russia 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 on Monday in the first round of the Strasbourg International.

Dellacqua broke serve seven times as Vesnina made nine double-faults.

French wild card Claire Feuerstein also advanced, saving 10 of 12 break points in her 6-2, 6-4 win over Sharon Fichman of Canada.
