Tashkent - Japan's Nao Hibino upset rising Croatian star Donna Vekic 6-2, 6-2 to win her first WTA Tour title in Tashkent on Saturday.

The 20-year-old from Aichi had already caught the eye by defeating defending champion Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia 6-2, 6-2 in the semis.

And she was dominant throughout against the 19-year-old Vekic, who three years ago reached the final in Tashkent only to lose to Irina-Camelia Begu.

Hibino has seven second-tier ITF titles to her name but this was her first appearance in a WTA Tour final.
