Berlin - Simona Halep regained third place in the women's WTA Tour rankings released on Monday, following her victory on Saturday in the final of the Dubai Classic.
Halep defeated Czech Karolina Pliskova 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in the Dubai Classic to win the 10th title of her career.
Halep had dropped to fourth in the rankings but again swaps places with Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.
Serena Williams of the United States continues to hold a big lead at the top, ahead of Russia's Maria Sharapova.
