Cornet in Strasbourg final

Strasbourg - Third-seeded Alize Cornet of France edged Eugenie Bouchard of Canada 7-5, 6-7 (7/5), 6-3 on Friday to reach the final of the Strasbourg International.

Cornet broke the Canadian teenager twice in the final set and saved six break points.

Last year's runner-up will face either Flavia Pennetta of Italy or Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic in the final.

Earlier on Friday, Pennetta dismissed Misaki Doi of Japan 7-5, 6-3 while Hradecka downed Johanna Larsson of Sweden 7-5, 6-3.

Those two quarter-finals were initially scheduled for Thursday, but were postponed to Friday because of the rain.
