West Palm Beach - Three-time Grand Slam champion Jennifer Capriati faces a December 17 trial date in connection with an alleged battery case involving her ex-boyfriend.

An Florida judge set the trial date on Friday at a hearing that the 37-year-old Capriati did not attend, The Palm Beach Post reported.

Capriati is accused of punching her former boyfriend at a gym on Valentine's Day.

Capriati has denied the accusations.

Capriati captured back-to-back Australian Open titles 2001 and 2002 as well as a French Open crown in 2001.

She won a gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
