Anderson clears first hurdle at US Open

Cape Town - Kevin Anderson has easily won his first round match at the US Open, beating JC Aragone of the United States in straight sets.

The South African, ranked 32 in the world and seeded 28th for the tournament, easily overcame the American, winning 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1 in an hour and 46 minutes.

The 31-year old now has a 14-7 record at the event. His best ever result at Flushing Meadows came in 2015 when he reached the quarter-finals.
